BOARD OF DIRECTORS


The Board of Directors works collaboratively to provide oversight and direction to Union Gallery staff. Board members work with each other and the Gallery Director to oversee the operations and strategic direction of the organization. The Board is composed of artists, arts administrators, and other professionals who contribute experience in fundraising, financial management, human resources, equity work, administration, and technical expertise to our successful operation.

We are currently seeking new members to join our Board of Directors.

Are you passionate about arts-based mentorship, experiential learning, and serving your community? Union Gallery is looking to fill up to 3 vacancies on our Board of Directors and we would love to hear from you! We are diving into some exciting work including building our next Strategic Plan, developing our membership program, and reimagining our fundraising model. We are keen to welcome new members who are equity champions, legal experts, and/or current Queen’s University students in any field who are enthusiastic about our organization. Our Nominations Committee will prioritize equity-seeking applicants with capacity to contribute to our collaborative work in the areas mentioned above. ABOUT OUR BOARD

Board members work collaboratively to provide oversight and direction to senior management. The Board is composed of artists, students, arts administrators, and other professionals who contribute experience in fundraising, financial management, human resources, equity work, administration, and technical expertise to our successful operation. Board members are expected to lend their experience and expertise by actively participating in quarterly Board meetings, serving on committees, presenting at the annual meeting, and participating in board retreats, as deemed necessary. UG has a minimum number of 3 and a maximum of 8 Directors on the Board. The term for each position is three years (renewable up to a second term).



APPLICATION

Interested individuals are invited to submit an expression of interest (max. 500 words), as well as a resume or CV. Submit your application to ugallery@queensu.ca with the subject line "UG Board Director Application" from now until August 31, 2023. All applicants will be contacted and applications will be reviewed by the Nomination Committee. Selected applicants will be invited for election at the Annual General Meeting this fall.
