tell-tales, features new paintings by Montreal artist Tammy Salzl. Tammy Salzl’s work explores the complex nature of the human condition and the psychological complexities of contemporary life. Examining themes of sexuality, identity and power relations, the figures in her work are often set in allegorical spaces that capture deep psychological
and emotional states. For this exhibition Salzl will present a series of small oil paintings on canvas to created an expanded narrative where mythology and reality intersect where the known touched the unknown. Envisioned as tableaux from a storybook that is both familiar and strange the imagery moves the viewer through the intricate terrains of identity and psyche.

Salzl is based in Montreal and holds a BFA from University of Alberta and an MFA from Concordia University. She has been exhibiting her work since 1997 in galleries across Canada is represented by dc3 art projects in Edmonton, Alberta.
