Consumption of digital media, physical objects and activities shape and reflect a notion of the self and community. In our daily activities, affect, both online and in-person, runs through all of our interactions, and perceptions of self. Our identities are always in dialogue, being reflected and refracted onto each other and the spaces we occupy. Artists in (Me)diated Re/flections explore the aesthetic of affect, assess digital permutations of representation and update tired tropes of gender and sexuality. They make palpable the pivotal role affects plays in shaping notions of self and the surrounding environment.
