Catfeesh is a showcase of 3 books and several prints created with the aid of ‘zany’ characters who deal with environmentalism and the fragility of nature. Comic-like situations reflect humanity and the concern of the environment and pollution, using the satirization of society as a tool combined with a cynical outlook on environmentalism. The use of humor engages in reflection about the harsh reality of what is really happening in the landscape. “My work is like walking into a room and everyone is laughing at a joke, you don’t know what is funny, but you laugh as well.”

Marie McCarthy is currently in the 4th year of BFA Honours program at Queens. McCarthy is interested in unique book making using the medium of print. After my graduation she plans to pursue a career in education.
