Space Constructions
Then & Then Again is a touring retrospective of individual and curatorial projects created by the artist, curator, and critic Clive Robertson between 1969 and 2006. The main body of the exhibition will take place at the Modern Fuel Artist Run Centre with an adjunct exhibition featuring additional soundworks in the Project Room of the Union Gallery during the show’s run in Kingston. The exhibition will tour to Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City, Windsor, St. Catherines and Peterborough.
Clive Robertson is an artist, media arts publisher and cultural critic teaching contemporary art history and policy studies, performance and video production at Queen’s University, Kingston. In November 2006, Robertson’s book Policy Matters, was published by YYZBooks. The book examines art production as a particular temporal and spatial series of social relationships organized, legitimated and circulated through administration, funding and publicity. It provides a challenging in-depth analysis of Canada's artist-run centre movement alongside historical studies of public arts funding and museum practices, and arts journalism. Policy Matters contributes to domestic and international understandings of the distinctive address of Canadian arts policy and organized art.
