Reception: Saturday, March 22, 6-8pm

Sarah Love , Philippa, oil on canvas, 2013

Bodies & Bonds is an exhibition of figurative painting and portraiture that explores the human condition. Love’s portraits reflect the experiences of adolescence and how this impacts identity during periods of transition. Brickman’s work deals with themes of childhood memory and experience that capture the innocent and inquisitive nature of children. Slabosz’s paintings explore the subconscious through studies of the human figure, portraiture and still life. In her work the human body is employed as a visual representation of memory and a personification of emotional responses which occurs when recounting forgotten life events.
