Three Step Snare features sculpture and drawings by Toronto-based artists Jaime Angelopoulos and Derrick piens. Angelopoulos explores the physicality of bodily experience, as well as immaterial experiences of sensation, emotions and behaviour through sculpture and drawing. Her sculptures consist of multiple components, conflicting materials, forms and colours that affix together to create a singular system, while the drawings depict aspects of the sculptural forms that inform her sculpture-making process. In his work Derrick Piens considers the continuous process of transformation that materials and objects undergo throughout time. He creates abstract, unidentifiable objects that evoke or depict a sense of the transient through the creative and constructive process and the overall sculptural form.
