The Union Gallery has been in operation since 1994 and is a unique place within the cultural landscape of the City of Kingston. It is a professionally staffed, student-driven university organization that is accessible to both the Queen’s and the Kingston communities. It provides experiential learning opportunities through mentoring programs and projects as well as exhibitions and events by students and professional artists. Mentoring programs include opportunities for Queen's students preparing for a career in the contemporary visual art field, emerging artists transitioning from post-secondary education (or equivalent) into a career in the visual arts field and for established artists from the community and beyond to share their resources, insights and knowledge. The exhibition program is open to students and professional artists.
It is a public gallery open five days a week during the academic year and three days a week in the summer. Admission is free.
